Offshore Cargo Carrying Unit A freight or service container with a maximum gross mass not exceeding 25,000 kg
A portable unit for the repeated use in the transport of goods or equipment, handled in the open seas, to, from and between fixed and/or floating installations and ships
Offshore cargo carrying units may be split into five general subtypes
Offshore Cargo Container A closed container with doors It is possible to have open-topped containers; as a general rule, if you are standing next to an open-topped unit and you are unable to see over the side, then it is a container.  All units with roofs are containers, even if you can see over the top of them!  
Offshore Cargo Basket An open-topped unit for general or special cargo

Special Units
For example:
1.  Fitted with a tank for the transport of fluids (hazardous and/or non-hazardous)
2.  Fitted for the transport of bulk solids
3.  Garbage compactors
4.  Gas cylinder racks

Offshore Waste Skips
Open-topped unit for waste
Typically designed to be transported and emptied onshore using a standard skip truck

SDCB Small Drill Cuttings Box
Transport of drilling waste from shale shaker to disposal point.
Drilling waste consists of rock cuttings and mud (drilling fluid) used in the drilling process.
SDCBs are normally used to transport cuttings produced when using oil-based mud (OBM).
OBM comes in three types:
Low-toxicity OBM (LTOBM)
Synthetic oil OBM (SOBM)
Pseudo-oil base mud (POBM)

LDCB Service Large Drill Cuttings Box Service Transport of drilling waste from alongside the rig to disposal point.  Drilling waste consists of rock cuttings and mud (drilling fluid) used in the drilling process. LDCBs are filled using a dense-phase pneumatic conveying system. Note: the LDCB is not as Offshore Container, as it is never "...handled in open seas,to, from and between fixed and/or floating installations and ships.."
